The Walk
What a
long time since I last wrote about a Wednesday Walk. No, I haven’t fallen totally
into disrepair, although the physical signs of age are apparent. The weather
has simply been too awful for a decent walk. Nothing more to be said about that,
you’ve all seen the television news.Today the sun was shining and it actually felt quite warm. We met in Knyveton Road. It’s one of Bournemouth’s more notorious locations, but the least said about that the better. We met in full daylight and the ladies of the night were nowhere apparent. We had a pleasant walk down through Boscombe gardens to the shore and then walked along the promenade to Fisherman’s Walk. Along the way we saw the full effects the storms have had upon the beach huts. Whole sections of huts were fenced off for serious repair. Beyond the damage, a quick dart up the zig-zag path took us out by the Commodore Hotel. This is where we met Sue and Tricia.
After lunch we kept to the cliff top path for a walk back to Boscombe, and then into the gardens. Here we stopped for afternoon tea/coffee at the Clock Café.
Thanks to both Trudy’s for their photographs.
The Pub
The
Commodore. A bit basic inside, but they did a “Two meals for £9.99” deal. The
food seemed well worth the money.
Next Week

Valkenburg.
